Before activating your connection, it's essential to verify that everything is working correctly. This page guides you through testing your setup.
Before testing, make sure you have completed the following steps:
Trigger a Test Event
From an Alarm Panel
Most alarm panels have a built-in test function:
Access panel settings
Open your alarm panel's settings.
Find the test option
Look for "Test Report", "Manual Test", or "Send Test to ARC".
Trigger the test
Trigger the test; the panel will send a test code (usually RP β Automatic Test) to CallOnAlarm.
If you're using the Public API, send a test alert:

Verify Events Are Received
You can check incoming events in two places:
Connection Events
In your connection's configuration page, click on the Events tab.
This view shows only events for this specific connection.
Click Refresh to update the list.
Events Page (All Connections)
From your dashboard, click Events in the navigation bar.
This view shows events from all your connections.
Use the filters to:
Search by connection name, account number, code or description.
Event Log Limits
The number of events stored depends on your plan:
β
Event Received
Verify that your test event appears in the logs. If it does, your device is correctly communicating with CallOnAlarm.
β
Event Code Recognition
Check that the event code is correctly identified (e.g., "BA - Burglary Alarm" rather than an unknown code).
Troubleshooting
Once you've verified the items below, you're ready to activate your connection.
Events are being received
